Hunter is 100% all-boy and has been since day 1. As a result of this, he's made four trips to the ER in his lifetime, which averages out to about once a year. First he scared us to death when he contracted bacterial meningitis (or possibly West Nile virus...who knows) at 4 months old. He spent a day in the PICU and 10 days total at Arkansas Children's Hospital, but he got a helicopter ride out of the deal, which is probably what he was going for all along. A few months later Shelby rushed him to the ER again when he ate some Bengay and then again when he grabbed her straightening iron and burned his little hand. His most recent ER trip was just a few weeks ago when he fell and busted his chin on a concrete block; he finally got himself some stitches this time!
Over the last year, Hunter has become an expert t-ball and soccer player, though he prefers t-ball. He is the spitting image of his dad, but, according to Granna, he's a little bit "busier" than his dad was at five years old, haha. He definitely keep his parents on their toes! He became a big brother when he was almost three and takes very good care of his little sister (most of the time). Hunter is a hilarious kid and can be quite a little con-artist when he needs to be...I suppose that comes with being a 5-year-old boy.

When I'm with Hunter, no matter how "busy" he may be that day, I usually find myself thinking at least once how blessed I am to be his aunt. He is just such a great kid and so much fun to be around. We are all so blessed to have such an awesome 5-year-old in our lives!
Happy Birthday, Hunter!

By the way, I didn't get my digital camera until Hunter was two years old. You might think this would prevent me from posting a ridiculous amount of pictures of him...not so. I had a scanner, don't worry. The quality's just not great.

Oh yeah, and Jared turned 28 last Thursday. He's okay, I guess.
Happy Birthday, Jared!
(on their 1st and 24th birthdays)
