Two.

This weekend my family went to Little Rock to celebrate the 2nd birthday of a certain small--but very loud--boy.

My nephew Chase turned two last week, and yesterday we celebrated with an Elmo party. Didn't Shelby do a great job on the cake?

Chase was a little too eager to blow out his candles (as in, they were out after the first line of the song), so he got to blow them out several more times for pictures.

He was so enamored with his gifts that he never even had any cake! His favorite gift was whichever one Avery was wanting to play with at any given time. Actually, it was the tricycle from his Granna and Papa (my parents), and I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get a single picture of him on it.

Though the party was only attended by family members, there were enough kids there that it still felt like a "real" party, as least as far as Chase was concerned. And it was chaotic enough that it still felt like a "real" party, at least as far as the adults were concerned.

Or maybe it just felt like another day in our family. Yeah, I think that was it.

Happy (belated) 2nd Birthday, Chase!
