a quick update to appease the masses

Okay, here's the abridged version of what we found out today...it could've been worse, but it's definitely not what we wanted to hear...

The PET scan showed that all of Mom's enlarged lymph nodes (two in the chest and one in the abdomen) are still enlarged and "hot." Hot = probable cancer. The ones in the chest were hot on the last PET scan, but the one in the abdomen was not. The nodes are not any bigger than they were 6 weeks ago, and the rest of Mom's body was clear. Because this lymph node in the abdomen is located near the site of Mom's Whipple (pancreatic cancer surgery, for those of you who are new here), Dr. T fears it is pancreatic cancer and wants to biopsy it ASAP.

The biopsy has been scheduled for this Friday at noon, and we'll meet with Dr. Tauer at 2:15(ish) on Monday to get the results.

We did discuss options (hopefully prematurely) and I'll post about those and give more details when I get home from church tonight tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers. Keep them coming!
