Just wanted to post a quick update to appease Team Tricia. ;-) Mom had a pretty good night last night and is doing well today. Her pain seems to be more under control now and she's able to sleep better (which is convenient, since the pain meds make her sleepy). I can tell she's sleeping well when she goes more than 15 minutes without pushing the button on her pain pump, and she's done that some today. She also came off her oxygen this afternoon and got out of bed and in a chair for about 30 minutes (much to her dismay!). She spends most of her time sleeping or trying to sleep, but she's in good spirits when she's awake. :-)
We do ask that visitors be limited to family only for the time being - not because Mom doesn't want to see people, but because we want her to get as much rest as possible. And, if you know her, you know she feels obligated to talk to everyone who comes in the room! Hopefully in a day or two she'll be in a regular room and will feel more like seeing friends and less like sleeping.
