9/27 update

Today started off great! Mom's white count went down to almost normal. She walked the halls a few times. She wasn't hurting very much. She talked about going home. She even felt good enough to be bored.

Then she got her drain tubes put in . . . one on each side of her abdomen. That procedure was long and painful. Then she had to stay in bed for four hours (she is never able to get comfortable in bed). Then Dr. B stopped by and gave her a lecture on how she needs to be eating more. She didn't want to hear it. So the day ended not so great.

Now, at 10:42 PM, she's back in her recliner, trying to get comfortable and go to sleep (and hopefully stay asleep longer than 3 hours, which is about the most she's slept at one time since surgery). She does say that she feels some relief having the fluid off of her abdomen, but now she has new discomfort, due the drains. And when you're uncomfortable and hurting, it's easy to get discouraged. And she is discouraged tonight.

Please pray for her to sleep well tonight. Pray for a good tomorrow. Pray for a cancer-free future. Pray for God's glory to be revealed.
