Another clear CT scan!

Mom saw Dr. Tauer today and had yet another cancer-free CT scan! We shouldn't be surprised, of course, but each appointment is always a little scary. You just never know when or where it could show up again. Her tumor markers (just blood work) continue to be in the normal range. At one point last year, Dr. Tauer told Mom she was in partial remission, but usually he just says she is NED (no evidence of disease). Most doctors won't say the word "remission" with stage IV cancers, because they just assume there is always cancer somewhere in the body, even if it's too small to be picked up on scan. However, today Mom asked Dr. Tauer, "So what am I? What do you call this?"

He said, "You are in complete remission."

The plan is the same for now...continue herceptin treatments every 3 weeks for as long as it's working (that is, for as long as God uses herceptin as his way of healing). She has blood work done every 3 weeks with her treatments, and CT scans done every 12 weeks or so. Thank you all so much for your prayers. We are so grateful for all the prayers that are still being sent up on Mom's behalf. I hope that you have been as blessed by seeing God at work in this situation as we have!
