basketball

Last weekend we went to Little Rock to see Hunter play basketball. This is his first year to play and our first time to see him. I love watching 5-year-olds play sports, especially basketball. They just get the ball and run. Out of bounds, in bounds. . . it doesn't really matter as long as you're touching the ball. We have no idea who won or lost--they don't keep score. But the biggest news was that Hunter made a basket! He was so proud that Jamal was there to see him score. The picture on the left was actually taken just before he scored.

I took more videos than pictures, so here are a few clips. In the first clip, you'll see Hunter (#3) shooting the ball (this wasn't the shot he made) and then directing his teammate to the right goal, haha. The second clip is my favorite. The ball rolls out of bounds, so Hunter gets it. . . and just dribbles right back onto the court. When Hunter didn't have the ball, he wanted the ball! So, in the last clip, you'll hear him screaming at his teammate, Jonah, who did have the ball. If you're wondering about the wristbands, the players are supposed to guard the player on the other team wearing corresponding wristband. However, it seemed that most of them just went after whomever had the ball.

Oh they are SO cute! I noticed in the first clip, Hunter kept looking at all the wristbands on the other team until he found his guy and then spread out in front of him. At least he paid attention! I love when someone shot for a basket they all kind of backed away and winced rather than go after the ball. So freaking cute. Jake wants to play basketball and I've been waiting...not wanting to commit my time to all the practices! LOL!
