Race for the Cure update

Just wanted to give everyone an update on Team Tricia, which actually isn't officially Team Tricia. We aren't having an actual team because we don't have enough people going. By the time the Race gets here, we may have enough people, but we didn't have enough people who could commit to going in time to make the "form a team" deadline. That's fine - less work for me! It makes things easier because now, if someone decides to come at the last minute, she can and doesn't have to register ahead of time.

If you're interested in going (I've already talked to a few of you), you can go to www.komenarkansas.org to find out more details. This Friday, September 26th, is the last day to register online and be able to get your t-shirt mailed to you before Race Day, which is Saturday, October 11th. Obviously, for us Memphis folks, this will be the easiest thing to do. The actual registration page is here. You want to register as an individual, and we will be doing the Women's 5K Run/Walk (emphasis on the Walk).

If, for some reason, you don't get registered this week, you can still register later (I believe you can still register on the morning of the Race). I decided to go at the last minute last year and registered the morning of the Race. However, I don't recommend this as it adds one more thing to an already chaotic morning (it is CRAZY in downtown Little Rock on this morning!). Plus you don't get your t-shirt until a few weeks after the Race. :-(

One more piece of news . . . my friend Jill's aunt, Karen, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. No fun. Karen is probably my favorite aunt that's not actually my aunt, AND she has a blog! Please keep her and her family in your prayers. Rumor has it she might be joining us in Little Rock. I hope so!
