month 7

*Note: Yes, Halle left our home yesterday, but, since she was here on her 7 month birthday and since I've had this post half-done for several days, I'm posting this update anyway.


Halle turned 7 months old on the 5th! Month seven with Miss Halle was so much fun. She is so much fun! She's doing lots of new, "grown-up" things these days.

A former hater of tummy time, Halle now LOVES it, and often will try to squirm out of your lap so she can get down and play on the floor. She gets up on all fours and is so close to crawling, but she mainly just rolls and scoots (aka army crawls) to get to where she wants to be. She is now a master sitter-upper and can go from a sitting to lying down position and then back to a sitting position all by herself. She can also pull up to standing position, though she's only done this once - when she was really mad and really wanted out of her bed.

Halle has also developed a bit of a temper these last couple weeks! For example, if she doesn't want her clothes changed, she'll just arch her back and throw her arms up and cry like you've hit her, thus making it more difficult to change her clothes. We actually find this quite funny, and I don't think it pleases her when we laugh at her fit-pitching attempts.

She continues to be sick most of the time and is currently on Tagamet (which I'm pretty sure is making no difference at all and is not necessary) and an antibiotic. She rarely acts sick, though, and recent events have led us to believe that all this sickness may just be the result of an allergy to dogs (her baby-sitter has an indoor dog).

Halle got her first piece of mail this month! The Little Engine That Could, from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library/Shelby County Books from Birth (She should've gotten this when she was newborn; we were late signing her up.)

She has a new fascination with shoes . . . looks like Tekia's rubbing off on her.

She got to ride on the mower with Daddy Randy for the first time recently. She liked it at first, but was done after about 10 minutes.

And once she spit up on Jamal's face. And I made him sit there long enough for a picture.

She's now big enough to sit in the high chair, though she still despises most solid foods - or at least eating them out of a spoon. In this picture, she's chewing on some potatoes in her Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder.

And we discovered she likes apples, as long as she can hold them herself.

And this is Halle's new big sister, Cierra! Cierra and Cande were actually here the night of Halle's 7 month birthday.

Cierra, Tekia, & Rumi - the Halle fan club (By the way, Jennifer Willoughby, notice the outfit Kia put on when she got home from school. You gave her her first halter top when she was a year old and she hasn't looked back. Thank you so very much.)
