In the spirit of Christmas, Tekia gave Ashley a Whoville-ish hairstyle.
Quick story . . . my cousin Caleb brought his girlfriend Brooke to our family Christmas this year. It was the first time that most of us had met Brooke. We do the name-drawing method for giving each other gifts, and Brooke got Avery's name. She got a Avery a very cute, personalized hairbow-holder with some very cute bows on it. Avery was a little disappointed devastated to discover that it wasn't a toy. Upon opening her gift, she made the very unhappy face that you see below for about thirty seconds (seemed like thirty minutes!), while everyone made a huge deal about what a great present she'd gotten. And then she buried her face in my lap and sobbed as if we'd just strangled a puppy in front of her. Welcome to the family, Brooke.
Chase, on the other hand, was very pleased with (and quite surprised by!) his dinosaur from Aunt Callie.
