Guess what today is?

Tekia's Adoption Day! Four years ago today, Mom, Dad, Grandmother, Paw Paw (Tekia's attorney), Tekia, and I made a trip to the courthouse, where I officially gained a little sister, Tekia Faith. I won't go into Tekia's story, because I've done that before here and here. I'll just say once again that I'm so happy Tekia is my sister. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and witness God's goodness through her. Though, in her mind, she doesn't "match us", Mom and I told her just this afternoon that we can't imagine a Tekia any different than the one we have. . .a girly-girl with skin (and dimples, eyes, body, etc!) like QT's, a smile and chin like Shawn's, and a cute little space between her two front teeth like her Mama Bebe's (QT's mom). And of course we can't imagine a Tekia who doesn't get annoyed by her big brother, love going to Payless with her mom, get embarassed by her dad when she's cheerleading, crawl into bed with her big sister in the middle of the night, and love playing for hours at a time with her niece and nephew.
"Heredity or environment, which are you a product of?
Neither, my darling. Neither. Just two different kinds of love."
Happy Adoption Day, Tekia!
These are some fall pics of Kia (and Addy, of course) from a couple months ago.

Beautiful photos of Tekia. I love that child, too! She is so sweet and smart and loving. I love her hugs!
