pacemaker prayers

No, Trish doesn't need a pacemaker. But her mama does! My grandmother has been having some weird "spells" the last couple of days and was admitted to the hospital last night for observation and testing. Her cardiologist decided today that she needs a pacemaker. He decided this after doing some really freaky/cool thing (carotid artery massage for you medical peeps) that made Grandmother's heart stop for five seconds (okay, maybe only I thought it was cool . . . don't worry - it started right back when she coughed!). Anyway, Grandmother will be having a pacemaker placed tomorrow afternoon. We would all appreciate your prayers for her! If all goes as planned, she should get to go home on Thursday.

Speaking of prayers, keep praying for Trish. She's got an appointment tomorrow morning with Dr. Tauer's nurse practitioner to discuss how she's tolerating her new medicine (Tykerb). She's experiencing quite a few side effects, so we hope tomorrow will bring some hope for relief. And we also hope that things at her clinic will be on schedule so she can make it to Grandmother's pacemaker party by tomorrow afternoon!

We're very high-maintenance, I know.

I'll post an update on these two tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers!
